A library brings value to the community. It teaches, inspires, opens doors, and creates community.
Thanks to the generous support of the Jack Buncher Foundation, donations made to the Castle Shannon Library throughout the month of September will be MATCHED!
This September, libraries across Allegheny County are inviting residents to participate in a special fundraising collaboration to show support for their local library. Love Your Library, a first of its kind county-wide campaign developed by the Allegheny County Library Association and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, encourages residents to show their library love by investing in their libraries.
All donations to participating libraries of up to $500 per donor will count toward the match. At the end of the campaign, libraries will receive a pro-rated portion of the $125,000 match pool to support their general operations based on the total funds raised.
This unique campaign coincides with the American Library Association’s National Library Card Sign-Up Month, which introduces the community to the wide variety of services local libraries provide – from text to high-tech.
Enjoy Books can also be purchased online at www.enjoycouponbook.com using the Group Code 279.
The Books are available at the library for purchase. Offers are valid through November 1, 2017.
Support the library and enjoy some shopping at the Friends of the Library Fall Flea Market. There will be 25+ tables to shop from and lots to enjoy! Registration forms are now available at the library and on the website.
The Castle Shannon Library is excited to announce that we have purchased a Little Free Library that is located at the Borough Building.
What is a Little Free Library, you ask?
A Little Free Library is a “take a book, return a book” free book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share.
Online donations are now being accepted for the library. Please click the button below to place your donation.
Our bins are located in the lower parking lot in the back of the library.
Once again, the Library will receive money for the recycling we collect! Also, cardboard and phone books are now on the approved list of materials!
Thank you for your support.
